is located immediately north of Pass Christian where the Wolf River empties into the Bay of St. Louis.
     During the 1840s to 1861, until the start of the Civil War, the DeLisle community was a significant lumber center with lumber mills that were headed by such people as John Huddleston, W.J. White, Thomas Gray, G.L. Thomas, Leonard Stables, and others.  DeLisle was also noted for its shipbuilders, Jean Huddleston, Mateo Martinolich, and Justine Lassabe.
